Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Haridwar to Barkot
- Distance: ~200 km | Driving Time: 6-7 hours
- Journey Details: Start your spiritual journey with a morning drive from Haridwar to Barkot, traveling via Dehradun and Mussoorie. Take a brief halt at the popular Kempty Falls before continuing the drive into the mountains.
Day 2: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot
Distance: 45 km drive + 6 km trek (one way)
Journey Details: Early morning drive to Janki Chatti, the starting point for the Yamunotri trek. Trek 6 km (ponies and palanquins are available for hire) to reach the Yamunotri Temple. Take a holy dip in the Tapt Kund (hot spring), offer prayers to Goddess Yamuna, and trek back to Janki Chatti to drive back to your hotel.
Overnight Stay: Barkot
Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi
Distance: ~100 km | Driving Time: 4 hours
Journey Details: After breakfast, enjoy a scenic and relatively short drive to Uttarkashi. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. In the evening, visit the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple, an ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva situated right in the town.
Overnight Stay: Uttarkashi
Day 4: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
Distance: 100 km (one way) | Driving Time: 3-4 hours each way
Journey Details: Leave early for the Gangotri Temple. The drive passes through the stunning Harsil Valley, famous for its apple orchards and majestic cedar trees. Upon reaching Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred Bhagirathi River, visit the temple for Darshan, and relax in the serene surroundings before driving back.
Overnight Stay: Uttarkashi
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (or Sitapur/Phata)
Distance: ~220 km | Driving Time: 8-9 hours
Journey Details: This is one of the longest driving days of the tour. Journey past the Mandakini River to reach Guptkashi or the nearby base camp areas (Sitapur/Phata). Rest and prepare your daypack for the upcoming Kedarnath trek.
Overnight Stay: Guptkashi / Sitapur
Day 6: Guptkashi – Gaurikund – Kedarnath
Distance: 30 km drive + 18 km trek
Journey Details: Drive to Sonprayag and take a local shuttle to Gaurikund. From Gaurikund, begin the rigorous 18 km trek to Kedarnath Dham. You can opt to hike, ride a pony, or take a helicopter (pre-booking required). Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and attend the mesmerizing evening Aarti at the Kedarnath Temple.
Overnight Stay: Kedarnath
Day 7: Kedarnath – Guptkashi
Distance: 18 km trek down + 30 km drive
Journey Details: Wake up before dawn for the morning Darshan and pooja at the temple. Afterward, begin your descent back to Gaurikund. From there, take the shuttle to Sonprayag, meet your driver, and return to your hotel to recover from the trek.
Overnight Stay: Guptkashi / Sitapur
Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath
Distance: ~190 km | Driving Time: 7-8 hours
Journey Details: Drive through beautiful mountain roads via Joshimath and Govindghat to reach the final shrine, Badrinath Dham. Check into your hotel upon arrival. In the evening, visit the Badrinath Temple for Darshan and Aarti.
Overnight Stay: Badrinath
Day 9: Badrinath – Mana Village – Rudraprayag (or Pipalkoti)
Distance: ~160 km | Driving Time: 6-7 hours
Journey Details: Take an early morning dip in the Tapt Kund before final prayers at the temple. After breakfast, visit Mana Village—the last Indian village before the Tibetan border. Explore local landmarks like Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and the Bhim Pul over the Saraswati River. Later, begin the descent back down to Rudraprayag or Pipalkoti.
Overnight Stay: Rudraprayag / Pipalkoti
Day 10: Rudraprayag to Haridwar
Distance: ~160 km | Driving Time: 6 hours
Journey Details: On the final day, drive back to Haridwar. The route passes through Rishikesh, where you can make a brief stop to see the famous suspension bridges (Ram Jhula/Laxman Jhula). Arrive in Haridwar by late afternoon or early evening, marking the successful completion of your Chardham Yatra.
